Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Party
From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
